Up to 20 MB and 100 pages per file · 10 files / 40 MB per batch
We try progressively stronger compression. Some PDFs cannot reach this size without losing more detail. 1 KB = 1,000 bytes.

- 2Check the 200KB target and image quality floor, then compress.
- 3Compare the actual file size and preview, then download your PDF.
Get a PDF ready for a 200KB limit
This page starts with a target of less than 200,000 bytes. Add your file, choose the lowest image quality you are comfortable with, and start compression. The compressor first tries structural savings, then progressively stronger image settings within that limit.
The displayed size is rounded for readability. The pass/fail check uses the exact number of bytes, so a file displayed as 200.0 KB may still need a few bytes removed.
If your file is still over 200KB
The result shows how many more bytes need to be removed. You can download the best smaller result, lower the image quality floor and try again, or return to the source application to export fewer or lower-resolution images.
A self-authored textured-image PDF started at 1,850,930 bytes and reached 391,116 bytes at the default target quality floor. It became much smaller but still could not fit under 200KB. The tool reports that outcome as Target not reached.
If your destination allows a larger file, try 500KB. For a stricter limit, use 100KB. The general PDF compressor lets you prioritize image quality instead.
Files that already fit
When the original is already below 200KB, the tool keeps it unchanged. You can choose to compress it further, but no additional compression is needed to meet this target. Existing digital signatures and password protection are not processed by this tool.
FAQ
Can every PDF be compressed to 200KB?
No. Page count, fonts, image data, and existing compression all affect the final size. The tool tries bounded quality settings and checks the actual bytes. If it cannot get below 200KB, it shows the smallest result it found without claiming the target was reached.
What counts as under 200KB?
Here, 1 KB means 1,000 bytes. The result must be strictly below 200,000 bytes. A rounded display value is not used to decide whether the file fits.
Are my PDFs uploaded to a server?
No. PDF compression and preview run locally in your browser. The site downloads its processing software and may send anonymous usage events, but it does not send your file contents or filenames.
Is this PDF compressor free?
Yes. There is no sign-up or daily usage quota. Each PDF can be up to 20 MB and 100 pages, with up to 10 files and 40 MB in a batch. Processing also depends on available browser memory.
Will my PDF keep its text and image quality?
Text stays selectable and pages are not converted to images. Keep quality avoids lossy image recompression. Balanced, Smaller file, and Target size may reduce image quality. Check important details before submitting your result.
Can I compress a signed or password-protected PDF?
This version does not process encrypted PDFs, signature fields, XFA forms, or documents that need repair. Use an unsigned, unencrypted original that you are authorized to edit.
